You’ve heard me hint about something big that I was moving towards. Well, this is it. In the coming weeks we will announce the availability of the ADHD Support Academy.

What is the ADHD Support Academy?

Glad you asked! (OK – work with me here)  This will be your go-to destination for all things ADHD.  In the Academy, you will have an active support network to get your ADHD questions and issues answered and addressed.  You will have a place to call home, where others understand what you are dealing with.  The Academy will provide for targeted discussion groups, as well as the ability for you to shape the topics being discussed.  Have a question on how to help your kids in school?  Put it out there – let’s talk!  Not sure how to address difficulties at work?  We’re listening!  Just want to get your day’s headache off your chest? Pour yourself a cup of coffee and vent to your heart’s content!

The Academy is for you to shape.  If there is a topic that interests or concerns you, start a new group within the Academy.

The Academy allows for customization of your “space”.  Express yourself, share photos and generally make this experience yours.

Why should you join?  What’s the benefit?

Any therapist or counselor we have ever met asked this question, within the first session:  ” Are you involved in any support groups for ADHD?”  For so many people the answer is “No.”  Why?  There’s not enough time – I work.  I don’t know of any groups near me.  This site will allow you to get the support you need, at a cost that would probably be less than the gas to get to and from support group meetings.

In the Academy, you make connections with other people that share the same experiences, and you feel less isolated.  You will develop stronger coping skills, by learning from the experiences of others.  Watching others grow and develop can often create the motivation you need to kick-start your own development.

The Academy will provide both emotional and practical support.  Where else in your life can you turn, to comfortably share what you are dealing with and be recieved by people who understand, without judgement, because they have been there?
